Hi, my name is Lorna, I’m a forty-something, career environmentalist who is entering a second related “career” in small-scale farming in her 2 acre backyard in eastern Pennsylvania.

This blog is intended to be a record of my exploits in the garden in my quest to become more self-sufficient.  I hope you enjoy the posts – maybe they will be helpful to you and others, but mainly they will provide me with a record of what happened in the Winifred’s Little Acre (my veggie garden) over the (hopefully) many seasons ahead.

Hi Philippa, thank you for your comments and glad you enjoyed it so far. We are coming to the UK in June (briefly) and so hope to catch up with you, your family and your garden (I remember how pretty it was) soon…
